Jeff and Laura were married a couple weeks ago at the MSU Alumni Chapel in East Lansing, MI. The weather worked out beautifully and we got some great shots around the Red Cedar River after the ceremony. They’re such a cool and easy going couple! Their reception was held at the Kellogg Center. Check out some of their shots below!
Tim and Sarah were married at the Longacre House in Farmington Hills yesterday. We set up a small photobooth at the reception for their guests. Here they are!

Danielle & Dan are getting married in a couple weeks and they’re having an extremely unique ceremony. They’re choosing not to have an officiant and they wrote the whole ceremony themselves! I can’t wait to see what they have planned.
They chose to have their engagement session at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor.
Laura and Jeff are both school teachers in Jackson county. Jeff actually teaches at my old high school, so I always drill him for information whenever I see him! Sorry Jeff! They’re a seriously fun couple to work with and they somehow manage to get past that they each root for competing schools. Made for some cute shots!
We did their session at Ella Sharp Park in Jackson. It’s a Jackson icon- a nice mix of manicured gardens and historical buildings and a VERY popular wedding venue. I’ve shot here more times than I can remember! Jeff and Laura’s wedding is coming up in July and they booked one of my favorite local bands, Calling Marvin! Dan Bickle, one of the band members, was my band director in high school and a seriously cool guy.
Marianne & Phil met at Michigan State University… in a racquet ball class! We ran around MSU’s campus for a couple hours finding their favorite spots and of course, the racquet ball court. I can’t wait for their wedding in September. I can already tell that these two are going to be a blast!
As to be expected for Michigan, Memorial Day weekend had some pretty insane weather. Sunny and beautiful one day, and tornadoes the next. Holly and Farris were married at The English Inn in Eaton Rapids on May 29th. Everything went beautifully up right up until after the ceremony when the wind picked up and a storm came ripping through the grounds. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and their reception went on as planned, even without power! Kudos to The English Inn and Samantha from UR VISION PLANNING for making everything go so smoothly. First full wedding of the season! AHH! Stephanie and Nick are seriously one of the most delightful couples I’ve ever worked with for a wedding. They were incredibly into their pictures, which made my job easy. Wedding was at the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor and their fabulous reception was at the Eagle Crest Resort in Ypsilanti. It’s probably one of my favorite reception venues… the service (and the food!) is always great. Congrats guys!
After an amazing week long visit to London, I’m getting back into the swing of things. Expect a slew of posts in the coming weeks!

After I get back, I have a gazillion posts to do, as well as new photos from London! (Thanks University of Michigan art history program!)
Eamonn is SHEI’s fashion show assistant. He’s done some modeling, but didn’t have any decent studio shots. I’ve been trying to do one to two shoots a week, so I asked him if he would be interested in doing some studio/head shots and was extremely happy to oblige. We spent a couple hours in the U of M studio a couple weekends ago, and I still have a ton of photos to go through. A couple of my favorites are below!
